Operation Christmas Child demonstrates God’s love to children in need worldwide by delivering gift-filled shoeboxes and the good news of Jesus Christ! To participate, pick up a box at the Compassion Hub and return it no later than Sunday, November 13. River Oaks is serving as a National Drop-off Point for Operation Christmas Child again this year, and we will need extra hands to collect boxes as they come in. How to Pack a Box
Please remember that your box may be the only gift the child receives. So, plan to pack quality items that will last, and don’t forget to make it FUN!
- PICK UP A BOX: Pick up a box at the Compassion Hub.
- DETERMINE GENDER AND AGE TO SHOP FOR: You can choose to fill the box with items for a boy or girl ages 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Once determined, be sure to mark the label on the box accordingly.
- FILL WITH ONE “WOW” ITEM: Select a quality “wow” toy such as a doll, soccer ball with pump, or stuffed animal to bless a child.
- FILL WITH OTHER GIFTS: Pack full of other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies.
- PRAY FOR RECIPIENT: Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift. Include a personal note and photo to connect with the heart of a child.
- PREPARE TO TRACK YOUR PACKAGE: Before delivering your box to River Oaks, be sure to locate the number next to the QR code on the label and copy it HERE. This will allow you to track your package and see where in the world it is delivered.
- DROP OFF AT RIVER OAKS: Take your shoebox gift to the Compassion Hub or Kids Lobby anytime before November 13.
- PUT THIS CARD IN A SAFE PLACE: Be sure to keep track of this card so you don’t lose your tracking number and as a reminder to continue to pray for the child who will be receiving your gift.
